I washed my car today.
And I don’t mean just a shot of water and a sponge. I mean I REALLY washed it. It started innocently with some vinyl protectant on the interior. The vinyl protectant led to leather cleanser, which of course led to leather conditioner. By the time that was through I had to get out the special glass cleaner to wipe the other products off the windshield. And it was all downhill from there – we jumped right into a full body bath, followed by the exhaust tip polish and some magic rubber shiny-ifier for my baby’s shoes. When she was all done I was so proud that I just had to take her for a spin and shoot some pics.
I’m feeling a little guilty because this year I’ve strayed from my usual car thrills – racing & general gearhead-ness. Since I bought her this spring, my poor S2k is not getting the attention she deserves. She went to my friends at Soulspeed for a race alignment, got some new shoes, and a K&N filter. In Mindy terms, that’s borderline neglect. I’m quite disappointed in myself.
With any luck our racing days will be upon us again soon. In the meantime, I invite you to enjoy these still frames from our cruise around East Austin this evening (don’t be too critical about the shots, I’m no photographer & am working with a borrowed camera till my new camera gets here this week!)
